Review on Antimicrobial Resistance: The Final Review

Hello Everyone! I finally had some  time to write this post, as we are getting closer to the end of my school year. Jim O'Neil chaired the Final Review on Antimicrobial Resistance, which discussed the dangers of the overuse, misuse, and abuse of antibiotics and how various nations and individuals can contribute to reducing Antimicrobial Resistance. This initiative is sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and the UK government, but countries like China have also said they will be willing to donate millions to the cause in the future, making this a global initiative. I highly recommend reading as much of this review as you can; there's really a lot to learn from this document. One interesting fact that I learned is vaccines can reduce the unnecessary use of antibiotics by 47%. Additionally, if we let AMR grow as an issue, one person would die every 3 seconds by 2050 due to antibiotic resistance. If you are interested in reading more of this document, click here.
