Elsie Florian - Infected by CRE

Elsie Florian, was infected by a superbug, but most probably because of the hospital staff not cleaning a medical scope properly. Floran's daughter, along with the rest of the family sued the hospital for this issue. The US Senate decided to then take this as an opportunity to investigate the cleanliness of duodenoscopy, which has caused outbreaks across the country. Allegheny General Hospital was found guilty to not have cleaned their medical supplies well. AGH declined any comment on this issue through their spokesman Dan Laurent. Florian contracted the superbug called CRE in the hospital itself, from the contaminated duodenoscopes, which is used for examining digestive problems. Debbie Smoody, Florian's daughter said she hopes to raise awareness by filing this lawsuit and bring light to the issue.
