Unnecessary antibiotic use causes antibiotic resistant bacteria also known as "Superbugs". There is an encourasing sign of the decline in the usage of antibiotic in Oregan. As widely reported - as per CDC
At least 2 million people acquire serious infections from Superbugs, with 23,000 of those dying each year, from antibiotic–resistant bacteria in the United States. Overuse of antibiotic is one of the major reasons for creating these superbugs.

All kudos to the Oregon government to take the lead in reducing the unnecessary usage of antibiotics.
