Bedaquiline – a word, a drug, a ray of hope for an 18-year-old girl from Bihar, India to survive

What a heart wrenching story. This story really shook me as this girl hails from my dad's native place in India, Patna (Bihar).
A teenager has been battling with a strain of Extremely Drug-Resistant (XDR) tuberculosis and as per current Indian law, she can't avail one of the antibiotics which might help her. She and her father are approaching the Indian court to get the law changed so that she can try this antibiotic, named Bedaquiline.


All these stories are testament to the fact that - Superbugs threat can not be taken lightly and it is spreading at a very alarming pace all across the world.
