California Patient dies after being infected by E. Coli

On January 31, the Los Angeles Department County of Health confirmed that one woman was infected recently, and due to drug resistant bacteria, she had died. Sources say she may have been infected with  mcr-1, which has a gene that is resistant to the antibiotic colisitin. The state of California is now one of the six states where patients have been infected with this bacteria. For more information, read KLA's article.
