Antimicrobial resistance and One Health - Linking Human, Animal and Ecosystem Health !


Antimicrobial resistance is a complex, multifaceted and urgent global health problem. The threat of superbugs is a global problem that requires collective wisdom, cooperation and collaboration across all sectors. This multidisciplinary approach of  One Health is the most appropriate means to address the challenges of these superbugs.

Finger-pointing and blame game between human doctors, farmers and meat producers on overusing of antibiotics is not going to resolve this issue quickly. We are running against the time here. Latest scientific data and insights are giving us hints on how to get to the root causes.
 As Laura very rightly summarizes in two words - we need a “One Health” approach !
